Why Do We Love Transformations? (And Do We Even Need a Reason?)

Why Do We Love Transformations? (And Do We Even Need a Reason?)

Some days I love my face without makeup - just me, as I am, fresh and natural. Other days, I want a full glam look, with sculpted cheekbones, perfect brows, and that I woke up like this (but didn’t) vibe. And you know what? Both versions of me are real. Both are me.

We often hear, “You don’t need makeup to be beautiful.” True. But that’s not the point. It’s not about needing it. It’s about wanting it. About playing, exploring, seeing yourself from different angles - like trying on different moods, different energies, different versions of you.

Do We Do It for Ourselves or for Others?

Let’s be honest—beauty standards exist. Social media is flooded with flawless faces, and we’ve all, at some point, compared ourselves to a celebrity or an influencer. But here’s the thing: comparison isn’t the enemy. It’s just a mirror. The real question is—does it inspire you or make you feel less than?

For me, makeup and self-care aren’t about chasing an ideal. They’re about choice. About the freedom to wake up and say, Today, I want to feel like a glowing goddess, or Today, I’m cool with my bare skin and messy bun. Or, like right now - as I sit here, writing this article, with my Massive BAN hairstyle, looking like I just survived a tornado, wearing the most random cozy t-shirt I could find. And guess what? I still love myself in this moment. Because it’s not about looking perfect - it’s about feeling like you.

Transformation Isn’t About Hiding - It’s About Discovering

What I love most about my work is showing women(sometimes men) how much range they have. A small shift in color, a subtle tweak in technique, and suddenly - you see yourself differently. Not as a completely new person, but as another facet of yourself.

Sometimes, all it takes is finding your colors - the ones that make your skin glow effortlessly. Or understanding which shapes and styles naturally enhance your features. That’s why I love helping women discover these little details - because once you see it, you can’t unsee it. And the best part?

You don’t need drastic changes to look and feel different. It’s all about knowing what works for you.

So no, makeup isn’t a mask. Transformation isn’t about erasing who we are. It’s about seeing all the ways we can shine. And isn’t that the most exciting part?
